The 47th Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) announced the winners of the 2021 Golden Space Needle and Audience Awards. There Is No Evil won the Golden Space Needle Audience Award – Best Film and Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America won the Golden Space Needle Audience Award – Best Documentary.
The 2021 Seattle International Film Festival announced its complete lineup of programming for its first-ever virtual edition. The full slate of works includes a grand total of 219 films, including 93 feature length films from 69 countries. The festival will run from Thursday, April 8th to Sunday, April 18th.
International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) announced the selections for the Masters and Paradocs program sections, as well as the remaining titles in the Best of Fests section. A total of 47 films have been added to the IDFA 2020 program.
The re-imagined 2020 San Diego International Film Festival (October 15-18) will open with the third feature film from director Chloé Zhao, NOMADLAND. The European Film Academy and EFA Productions announced the EFA Documentary Selection, a list of 13 European documentaries recommended for a nomination for this year’s European Film Awards. There are 14 European countries represented in this year’s EFA Documentary Selection.
The 2020 Sundance Film Festival’s Awards Ceremony took place last night, with top awards – Grand Jury Prizes awarded to Minari for U.S. Dramatic, Boys State for U.S. Documentary, Epicentro for World Cinema Documentary and Yalda, a Night for Forgiveness for World Cinema Dramatic.
Ukrainian documentarian and author Iryna Tsilyk released the trailer for her feature-length debut, The Earth Is Blue as an Orange set to World Premiere at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.
The 2020 Sundance Film Festival revealed the 118 feature-length films, representing 27 countries and 44 first-time feature filmmakers that will be showcased at the upcoming festival. Films range from indie films to star studded cast featuring Meek Mill, Wilmer Valderrama, Elisabeth Moss, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Anne Hathaway, Ben Affleck and more. The Festival hosts screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City and at Sundance Mountain Resort, from January 23 to February 2, 2020.
