Actress Danielle Deadwyler (Till) will receive the MVFF Award for acting at the 47th Mill Valley Film Festival (MVFF). Netflix unveiled the official trailer for ‘The Piano Lesson‘, the drama film based on the 1987’s play of the same name by playwright August Wilson. The film is directed by August Washington and produced by Denzel Washington, who was familiar with Wilson’s work being involved in two of the playwright’s adaptation, ‘Fences’ and ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’.
Films from directors Angelina Jolie, Jacques Audiard, Edward Berger, Gia Coppola, Mike Leigh, Morgan Neville, Walter Salles, Athina Rachel Tsangari, and Jia Zhang-Ke to name a few are among this year’s lineup of 63 films in the Gala and Special Presentations programs at the 49th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival.
