Emerald Fennell’s Promising Young Woman topped the list of nominees for the 4th Annual Hollywood Critics Association Film Awards with a total of nine nominations. The film, which received rave reviews after its premiere at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, was nominated for Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Female Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best First Feature, Best Cast Ensemble, Best Hair & Makeup, and Best Film Editing.

The Vanguard Award is a group honor distinguishing a film’s cast and director in recognition of their collective work on an exceptional film project.
The North Texas Film Critics Association (NTFCA) voted “Nomadland” its best film of 2020 along with Best Director for Chloé Zhao, and Best Newcomer for Linda May.
Nomadland directed by Chloé Zhao was named Best Picture of 2020 by Online Film Critics Society (OFCS), which is comprised of nearly 300 film critics from around the world. Nomadland also won for Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Editing for Chloé Zhao; Best Actress for Frances McDormand and Best Cinematographer for Joshua James Richards.
