
The 18th Sydney Underground Film Festival (SUFF) returns with its tradition of celebrating bold, boundary-pushing independent cinema at the Dendy Newtown in Newtown, Australia, from September 12th to 15th, 2024.

The documentary Dahomey by Mati Diop won the Golden Bear for Best Film at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival. The film documents the return of 26 royal treasures of the Kingdom of Dahomey from Paris, returning to their country of origin, the present-day Republic of Benin.

Levan Akin’s film Crossing will open the 2024 Panorama program of 74th Berlin International Film Festival, set to showcase 31 titles from 36 countries. The Panorama program includes new works by André Téchiné, Thomas Arslan, Birgitte Stærmose, David-Pierre Fila, Annie Baker, Dag Johan Haugerud, Bruce LaBruce and Nathan Silver. Also in the program is the four-part anthology series Zeit Verbrechen.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced feature films eligible for consideration in the Animated Feature Film, Documentary Feature Film and International Feature Film categories for the 96th Academy Awards®.
