The 47th Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) announced the winners of the 2021 Golden Space Needle and Audience Awards. There Is No Evil won the Golden Space Needle Audience Award – Best Film and Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America won the Golden Space Needle Audience Award – Best Documentary.
The 2021 Seattle International Film Festival announced its complete lineup of programming for its first-ever virtual edition. The full slate of works includes a grand total of 219 films, including 93 feature length films from 69 countries. The festival will run from Thursday, April 8th to Sunday, April 18th.
As part of the festival format in 2021, the directors of six Golden Bear winning films will decide on the prizes in the International Competition at the 71st Berlin International Film Festival and will view the films on the big screen in Berlin. A jury presidency is not planned for this year.

Winner of the 2020 Berlin Film Festival’s Golden Bear for Best Feature, Mohammad Rasoulof’s There Is No Evil is a series of four interrelated short stories set against the backdrop of contemporary Iran.
AFI today announced the full lineup for this year’s virtual AFI Fest presented by Audi running online October 15-22. The festival features 124 titles – 53% are directed by women, 39% are directed by BIPOC and 17% are directed by LBGTQ+.
Major international film industry organizations today released statements expressing concern about “the imminent incarceration” of Iranian film director Mohammad Rasoulof who recently won the Golden Bear at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival for his latest film, There Is No Evil.
The Iranian film There Is No Evil by Mohammad Rasoulof won the top prize, the Golden Bear for Best Film at the Berlin International Film Festival. The film also won the Guild Film Prize. Director Mohammad Rasoulof is banned from leaving Iran and was unable to accept the Golden Bear in person.
Berlin International Film Festival today revealed the 2020 Competition lineup of 18 films from 18 countries with 16 world premieres as well as one documentary film. Films in competition include First Cow by Kelly Reichardt; The Roads Not Taken by Sally Potter with Javier Bardem, Elle Fanning, Salma Hayek, Laura Linney; Siberia by Abel Ferrara with Willem Dafoe.
