
The Argentine film Undefined Things (Las cosas indefinidas) by María Aparicio was named Best Latin American Film of the Year at the 15th Annual Cinema Tropical Awards.

The Argentine film Trenque Lauquen by Laura Citarella won the top award for Best Latin American Film of the Year at the 14th Annual Cinema Tropical Awards.

Cinema Guild will release Trenque Lauquen, the gripping and novelistic opus by acclaimed Argentine director Laura Citarella. The film stars Laura Paredes, Ezequiel Pierri, Rafael Spregelburd, Elisa Carricajo, Juliana Muras, Verónica Llinás, and Cecilia Romero

David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future, Jerzy Skolimowski’s EO, and Charlotte Wells’s Aftersun took the top spots among films released in 2022 on Film Comment’s annual end-of-year survey. Of the films that screened at festivals worldwide but have not announced stateside distribution, David Easteal’s The Plains, Bertrand Bonello’s Coma, and Laura Citarella’s Trenque Lauquen received the top rankings.

Zabaltegi-Tabakalera will showcase 22 films: 13 features, eight shorts and one mid-length movie at the San Sebastian Festival’s 70th edition, including films by Santiago Loza alongside Ruth Beckermann, Lee Chang-dong, Bi Gan, Natalia López Gallardo and Hlynur Pálmason.
