The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the 353 feature films eligible for the 2024 Academy Awards; of which 207 feature films are eligible for consideration in the Best Picture category, which has additional eligibility requirements beyond those for general entry.

Nelson Tracey’s drama Breakup Season. Shea Whigham and Carrie Coon attempt to escape mobsters in Lake George. Magnus von Horn’s period drama captures post-WW1 Copenhagen in The Girl With the Needle. Lillah Halla’s Power Alley follows a teenage volleyball player and her struggle for women’s rights in Brazil. Ralph Fiennes is Odysseus in Uberto Pasolini’s The Return. Joshua Oppenheimer’s apocalyptic musical The End stars Tilda Swinton and Michael Shannon, and documentary Sabbath Queen follows the story of a gay rabbi.
Unstoppable is the feature film directorial debut of William Goldenberg, Academy Award-winning editor of Argo. The film tells the incredible true story of Anthony Robles (played by Jharrel Jerome), an American wrestler who won the 2011 NCAA individual wrestling national championship despite being born with only one leg.
The 13th Annual Key West Film Festival which runs November 13-17, 2024, will showcase a lineup of over 75 films during its 5-day festival, including major Fall films from Pedro Almodovar, Barry Jenkins, Billy Corben, Michael Gracey, and Gia Coppola.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Woodstock Film Festival will kick off on opening night with Men of War by Billy Corben and Jen Gatien, Blitz directed by Oscar-winning director Steve McQueen will screen as centerpiece film, and A Real Pain directed by Jesse Eisenberg as closing night film.
The 27th SCAD Savannah Film Festival taking place from October 26 to November 2 will screen 162 films, including 123 narrative feature films, 31 documentary feature films, and 69 shorts, with 10 world premieres and six U.S. premieres.
The 37th edition of the Virginia Film Festival running from October 30 to November 3, 2024 in Charlottesville, Virginia, announced this year’s lineup of films including Oscar buzzed films Anora, Bird, Blitz, Emilia Pérez, The Fire Inside, The Last Showgirl, Memoir of a Snail, Nightbitch, Pavements, The Piano Lesson, A Real Pain, and The Room Next Door
This year’s 38th AFI FEST taking place in Los Angeles from October 23 to October 27 rounds out the slate of already announced titles with a full lineup of 158 films including September 5 directed by Tim Fehlbaum, All We Imagine As Light directed by Payal Kapadia, The Luckiest Man In America directed by Samir Oliveros (AFI Class of 2019), Zurawski V Texas from executive producers Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton and Jennifer Lawrence and directors Maisie Crow and Abbie Perrault, and Oh, Canada directed by Paul Schrader (AFI Class of 1969).
The 11th Miami Film Festival GEMS set to take place from October 30 to November 3, 2024, will feature 30 films from over 15 countries, kicking off with The Room Next Door, including three Centerpiece screenings of Emilia Pérez, Maria, and The Brutalist, and wrapping up with A Real Pain.
The 2024 Santa Fe International Film Festival running from October 16-20, has unveiled its its full lineup of 184 films including 42 narrative features, 24 documentaries, and 118 short films.
