The North Carolina Film Critics Association announced the winners for the tenth annual awards for achievements in film with The Power of the Dog leading the pack with six awards, including narrative film, director, actor, supporting actor, adapted screenplay, and cinematography.
Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) was the big winner at the sixth Critics Choice Documentary Awards winning in every category in which it was nominated, including the award for Best Documentary Feature, as well as Best Director (TIE), Best First Documentary Feature, Best Editing, Best Archival Documentary and Best Music Documentary.
Ahead of its world premiere at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival., Amazon Studios released the official trailer for the documentary “Val.” Directed by Leo Scott and Ting Poo, the documentary is compiled from thousands of hours of footage, including 16mm home movies shooting blockbuster movies like Top Gun and Batman Forever, much of it personally shot by Val Kilmer himself.
