Maura Delpero’s Vermiglio won the Gold Hugo for International Feature Competition at the 60th Chicago International Film Festival. Set in the final days of WWII, the period drama chronicles a harrowing year in the life of three sisters, the daughters of a schoolteacher in a remote mountain village.

This year’s 38th AFI FEST taking place in Los Angeles from October 23 to October 27 rounds out the slate of already announced titles with a full lineup of 158 films including September 5 directed by Tim Fehlbaum, All We Imagine As Light directed by Payal Kapadia, The Luckiest Man In America directed by Samir Oliveros (AFI Class of 2019), Zurawski V Texas from executive producers Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton and Jennifer Lawrence and directors Maisie Crow and Abbie Perrault, and Oh, Canada directed by Paul Schrader (AFI Class of 1969).

The European Film Academy has added 16 more films to the Feature Film Selection for the European Film Awards. New films include Conclave, Hard Truths, Harvest, The Room Next Door and Queer.

20 additional titles including the Gala screenings of Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis and the World Premiere of Nick Hamm’s William Tell have been added to the Official Selection of the 49th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival taking place September 5–15, 2024. In total, there are 278 films on the slate for this year’s Festival.
