
The 7th Mammoth Lakes Film Festival (MLFF) will take place in-person from September 22-26, 2021, at venues across Mammoth Lakes, California.

MTV Documentary Films acquired the award-winning short subject documentary Coded: The Hidden Love of J.C. Leyendecker from director Ryan White (The Case Against 8, Ask Dr. Ruth, The Keepers). The film, narrated by Neil Patrick Harris, won the Best Documentary Short award at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival, screened at the 2021 AFI Docs and Nantucket Film Festival, and was named a Critic’s Choice by Independent Magazine.

Fantasia International Film Festival brought its 25th edition to a close with the award ceremony, and the South Korean film Voice of Silence directed by Hong Eui-jeong won the top prize – Best Film along with Best Actor for Yoo Ah-in. In the thriller film, two anonymous crime-scene cleaners working for different gangs are assigned an unprecedented task that thrusts them both on a descent into hell: they must kidnap a child.

Magnolia Pictures released the official trailer for Mayday, an action fantasy film starring Grace Van Patten, Mia Goth, Soko, Havana Rose Liu, Juliette Lewis, and Théodore Pellerin. Directed by Karen Cinorre, Mayday world premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and will be released in theaters and on demand on October 1, 2021.

Academy Award-winning actor Tilda Swinton will narrate Goliath: Playing With Reality, a virtual reality experience directed by Barry Gene Murphy and May Abdalla, set to World Premiere at the 78th Venice International Film Festival on September 1.

Vertical Entertainment released the official trailer for Solitary, the sci-fi space thriller film starring Johnny Sachon, Lottie Tolhurst, and Michael Condron. Directed and written by Luke Armstrong, the film opens in select theaters and on demand on September 24th, 2021.

Actress Sharon Stone will be honored for her acting career at the 17th Zurich Film Festival with the Festival’s highest accolade, the Golden Icon Award. Sharon Stone will be in Zurich to accept the award in person on Saturday, September 25. The award ceremony will be followed by a screening of Martin Scorsese’s thriller Casino, which earned the actress an Oscar nomination. Sharon Stone will also hold a ZFF Masters where she will offer the public insight into her creative process and remarkable career.
