Helmed by Emmy-nominated The World According to Jeff Goldblum director Nic Stacey, Buy Now: The Shopping Conspiracy is a new Netflix documentary that explores the shady tactics brands use to keep customers constantly purchasing their products. The documentary features insiders and whistleblowers from major brands, exposing the manipulative tactics used to deceive customers.

Directed by Tamra Davis (Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child), the documentary Larger Than Life: Reign of the Boybands delves into the evolution of boy bands, from the groundbreaking influence of The Beatles to the global rise of K-pop and shining a spotlight on the iconic groups of the 1990s and 2000s.

AFI FEST 2024 announced the Grand Jury Award short film winners and Special Mentions. The Grand Jury Award winners for Live Action Short, Documentary Short and Animated Short will be eligible for the 2024 Best Live Action Short, Best Documentary Short and Best Animated Short Academy Awards.

The Edward Berger drama Conclave alongside other acclaimed titles Sam Yates’ feature debut, Magpie, Steve McQueens’ WWII drama Blitz, A Real Pain directed by Jesse Eisenberg, Ash Avildsen directed Queen of the Ring, and Nickel Boys directed by RaMell Ross, are the finalists for the Best Feature Film Award at the 15th Twin Cities Film Festival (TCFF).

The International Documentary Association (IDA) unveiled the shortlist for this year’s IDA Documentary Awards. The shortlist was selected from more than 700 entries across all categories, representing 77 countries.

Armand directed by Halfdan Ullman Tøndel won the Award for Best Narrative Feature at the 32nd Hamptons International Film Festival. Viktor, directed by Olivier Sarbil, received the Award for Best Documentary Feature.
