FREAKS tells the warped tale of Chloe (Lexy Kolker), a young girl sheltered by her father (Emile Hirsch) from the world outside their door… until an ice cream man (Bruce Dern) tries to lure her out of her safe haven.

The Farewell, directed by Lulu Wang will screen at the 2019 San Francisco International Film Festival as a special Centerpiece event on Thursday, April 18 at the historic Castro Theatre. A crowd favorite during its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, the film is based on an “actual lie,” as labeled by director and screenwriter Lulu Wang.

The Ashland Independent Film Festival announced its lineup of over 150 films for the eighteenth annual festival, April 11-15, 2019, in Ashland, Oregon.
The Florida Film Festival will screen 184 films representing 41 countries for the 28th Annual Festival, April 12-21, 2019, in Maitland and Winter Park, Florida. The festival will open with Woman in Motion, directed by Todd Thompson, a fasciniation documentary on Nichelle Nichols who played Lieutenant Uhura, the communications officer aboard the Starship Enterprise
Tribeca Film Festival award-winner Diane, directed by Kent Jones, and exec-produced by Martin Scorsese will open in theaters on March 29. Diane starring Mary Kay Place, Jake Lacy, Estelle Parsons, Andrea Martin, Deirdre O’Connell, Phyllis Somerville, Glynis O’Connor, and Joyce Van Patten won the awards for Best Narrative Feature, Best Cinematography and Best Screenplay at Tribeca Film Festival.

The 11th edition of Hola Mexico Film Festival will open with the Los Angeles premiere of The Good Girls ( Las niñas bien) on Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Montalbán Theatre in Hollywood. The film, directed by Alejandra Márquez Abella, is a satirical critique of Mexico’s bourgeoisie class. Inspired by María Guadalupe Loaeza’s book by the same name, the film stars Ilse Salas, Flavio Medina, Cassandra Ciangherotti, and Paulina Gaitan and is produced by Gabriela Maire and Rodrigo S. González.
