Mubi debuted the official trailer for The History of Sound, a historical romantic drama film directed by South African filmmaker Oliver Hermanus (Moffie, Living). Set in the aftermath of World War I, it chronicles the love story between two music students, played by Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor. The film is the sequel to Ne Zha released in 2019, and is based on the Chinese mythological character and Xu Zhonglin’s 16th-century novel Investiture of the Gods (Fengshen Yanyi).
