1917, THE LIGHTHOUSE, APOLLO 11 Win Dallas-Fort Worth Film Critics 2019 Awards
THE LIGHTHOUSE starring Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson The Dallas-Fort Worth Film Critics Association voted 1917 as the best film of 2019, according to the results of its 26th annual critics’ poll. The Russell Smith Award for best low-budget or cutting-edge independent film went to The Lighthouse.

THE SOCIAL DILEMNA and 2 Archival Films Added to Sundance Film Festival 2020 Lineup
Three feature films – The Social Dilemma along with Born into Brothels and High Art from The Collection Films have been added to the 2020 Sundance Film Festival’s robust slate of independent films. Additionally the Festival announced that previously-announced Special Event, Love Fraud, will screen on Day One of the Festival. The Festival will take place in Park City, Salt Lake City and at Sundance Mountain Resort January 23 to February 2, 2020.

BEANPOLE Beanpole, the Russian post-WWII drama from director Kantemir Balagov is one step closer to winning an Oscar, as the film made the Oscar shortlist for Best International Feature Film. Beanpole opens in theaters in NYC at Film Forum on January 29 and in Los Angeles at Landmark Nuart on February 14.

PARASITE Named Best Film and Best Foreign Film of 2019 by Seattle Film Critics
GISAENGCHUNG (Parasite) directed by BONG Joon-Ho Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite is the big winner this year with the Seattle Film Critics Society (“SFCS”) winning five awards, including Best Picture of the Year. The South Korean film also earned Bong the Best Director award and Best Screenplay, which he shares with co-writer Han Jin-won. Parasite was also named Best Foreign Language Film and the film’s ensemble was honored with the Best Ensemble Cast award.
