Tribeca Immersive, at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, where top VR creators choose to debut their latest work, will showcase more than 30 cinematic and cutting-edge virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality experiences by top artists who push the boundaries of storytelling with technology. Tribeca Immersive encompasses two events that run the duration of the Festival, Virtual Arcade, presented by AT&T, and Tribeca Cinema360. The Tribeca Film Festival takes place from April 24 to May 5.

The River and The Wall follows five friends on a 1,200 mile journey along the US-Mexico border from El Paso to the Gulf of Mexico. Riding horses, bicycles, and paddling canoes, they travel along the Rio Grande and meet with landowners, border patrol agents, congressmen on both sides of the aisle, immigrants, wildlife biologists, and folks on either side of the Rio to better understand where a physical border wall would go and the impacts it would have.

The Spy Behind Home Plate, set for national release on Friday, May 24, is the first feature-length documentary about Moe Berg, the enigmatic and brilliant baseball player who turned spy for the U.S. Office of Strategic Services (OSS) during World War II. The film from award-winning documentary filmmaker Aviva Kempner will play film festivals and theaters across the U.S. and internationally.

The powerful film Sobibor tells the true story of the only successful revolt in a Nazi death camp during World War II. Directed by Konstantin Khabenskiy, the film was Russia’s Official Selectionon for Foreign-Language Oscar. Samuel Goldwyn will release Sobibor March 29, 2019 in Los Angeles at Laemmle Music Hall, and nationwide on digital/VOD.

In The Burial Of Kojo filmmaker Blitz Bazawule weaves African mythology and social political issues into a stunning tapestry punctuated by both drama and dreams. The film won the 2018 Urbanworld Film Festival Best Narrative Feature and was also an official selection of the 2019 Pan African Film Festival (PAFF).

Director Penny Lane’s provocative Sundance-sensation Hail Satan? opens this year’s 2019 Boston Underground Film Festival with its inspirational and entertaining chronicle of the extraordinary rise of one of America’s most colorful and controversial religious movements, The Satanic Temple (TST). A damning commentary on the role of organized religion in our purportedly secular society, Hail Satan? challenges preconceived notions about the objectives of the nontheistic, Salem-based, political activist movement and offers “a timely look at a group of often misunderstood outsiders whose unwavering commitment to social and political justice has empowered thousands of people around the world.” Filmmaker Lane and TST co-founder & spokesperson Lucien Greaves will be present for a post-screening Q&A.

The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today unveiled its feature film lineup of 103 films from 124 filmmakers. The films selected in the three competition sections consist of 50% women directed films. The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 24 – May 5.

The new inspiring and rousing documentary TIME FOR ILHAN, chronicles newly elected Congresswoman, and first ever Somali Muslim legislator, Ilhan Omar, as she seeks to redefine politics in America. TIME FOR ILHAN, which was recently nominated for Outstanding Documentary at the 2019 NAACP Image Awards, will be released on March 8, 2019 to coincide with International Women’s Day.

Babylon will open on March 8, 2019 in New York at BAM; and on March 15, 2019 in Los Angeles a Laemmle Glendale.

Gunpowder & Sky released the official trailer for Her Smell starring Elisabeth Moss as Becky Something, a ’90s rock superstar. Her Smell also stars Cara Delevingne, Dan Stevens, Agyness Deyn, Amber Heard, Gayle Rankin, Ashley Benson, Dylan Gelula, Virginia Madsen and Eric Stoltz; and will be released on April 12th in NY and April 19th in LA.

A24 released the first trailer forThe Souvenir, a mysterious and mesmerizing chronicle of first love from acclaimed filmmaker Joanna Hogg. The Sundance Grand Jury Prize Winner features profoundly layered breakout performances by Honor Swinton Byrne and Tom Burke alongside Academy Award winner Tilda Swinton in an enrapturing and personal portrait of the artist as a young woman. The Souvenir will be released in theaters on May 17, 2019.
