Hulu will release Emmy Award–winning director/cinematographer Peter Nicks’ 2021 Sundance Film Festival official selection Homeroom. Homeroom is Peter Nicks’ final chapter in a trilogy of films examining the relationship between health care, criminal justice, and education in Oakland, CA over the past decade. Hulu also has the U.S. streaming rights to The Waiting Room(2012) and The Force (2017) so audiences can experience all three projects of this groundbreaking trilogy together.

Film at Lincoln Center announced that the 59th New York Film Festival (NYFF) will take place from September 24 until October 10, 2021. Produced by Film at Lincoln Center, the 59th edition will run 17 days with a hybrid of in-person and virtual screenings.

The 2021 Tribeca Festival announced its 2021 Shorts Program lineup comprised of 64 short films “striking hopeful and optimistic tones from 20 countries worldwide.” World Premieres account for 70% of the competition slate, which is the highest percentage in Tribeca history. The 2021 Tribeca Festival unveiled its feature film lineup of 66 films from 81 filmmakers from across 23 different countries. The line-up includes 56 world premieres, 1 international premiere, 4 North American premieres, 1 U.S. premiere, and 4 New York premieres. The Festival’s 20th anniversary edition will run June 9-20 with live in-person events at outdoor venues across all New York City boroughs.
