2021 San Francisco International Film Festival announced the winners of the juried Golden Gate Award (GGA) competitions and the Audience Awards with the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature going to Chase Palmer for the film Naked Singularity. The Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature was a tie between director Roberto Salinas for the film Cuban Dancer and director Jeremy Workman for Lily Topples the World.
The coming-of-age film, Pink Skies Ahead, written and directed by New York Times best-selling author Kelly Oxford, will premiere commercial free on Saturday, May 8 at 9:00PM ET/PT on MTV with a simulcast on Pop TV.
RLJE Films will release the horror/action film, Great White in theaters this summer with Shudder premiering the film on its platform later in the year.
The 23rd annual Sarasota Film Festival (SFF) announced its full line-up, including its Spotlight Section, Narrative Feature Competition, Independent Visions Competition, Documentary Feature Competition, Narrative Documentary, and Short Films. The festival will take place from April 30th to May 9th with virtual and in-person events.

Sony Pictures Classics will release 12 Mighty Orphans, the inspiring sports drama film starring Luke Wilson, Martin Sheen, Vinessa Shaw, and Robert Duvall in New York and Texas on June 11, with a wider release throughout the rest of the country on June 18. Texas theaters will do advanced screenings starting June 10.

Under the Stadium Lights, previously titled “Brother’s Keeper” is directed by Todd Randall and based on the 2010 book “Brother’s Keeper” by sports writer Al Pickett and Eagles team chaplain Chad Mitchell about Abilene High School’s 2009 state championship football team.
Maryland Film Festival (MdFF) announced the full lineup of 104 films and 33 programs for the 23rd annual edition of the festival, with Women Is Losers, directed by Lissette Feliciano as the 2021 Closing Night film.
