Apollo 11 won the Award for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Motion Picture at the 31st Annual Producers Guild Awards on Saturday night in Los Angeles. The top prize, the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures went to the World War I film 1917.
A&E Network’s Emmy Award-winning ‘Biography’ is set to air the two-hour documentary special exploring the many lives and decade-spanning career of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne. Featuring exclusive interviews with Ozzy as he reflects on the many phases of his journey, “The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne” will have its world premiere at SXSW in March and is set to air this summer on A&E.
“Parasite” (edited by Jinmo Yang) and “Jojo Rabbit” (edited by Tom Eagles) won Best Edited Feature Film (Dramatic) and Best Edited Feature Film (Comedy) respectively at the 70th Annual ACE Eddie Awards tonight where trophies were handed out recognizing the best editing of 2019 in 11 categories of film, television and documentaries. This marks the first time in ACE Eddie Awards history that a foreign language film won the top prize.

I Was At Home, But… competed for the Golden Bear at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival where Schanelec won the Silver Bear for Best Director.

The film starring Zoe Kazan, Andrea Riseborough, Tahar Rahim, Caleb Landry Jones, Jay Baruchel, Bill Nighy, and David Dencik opens in select US theaters on Valentine’s Day – February 14th, 2020.
Less than one month before opening night, the 2020 Animation First festival continues to add new films and events including the US premiere of Hello World! directed by Anne-Lise Koehler and Éric Serre, an exhibition of illustrator/filmmaker Lorenzo Mattotti’s New Yorker covers, as well as expanded programs of shorts, video games, virtual and augmented reality, and public workshops. The Animation First festival will take place from February 7 to 9.
Sony Pictures Classics released a teaser trailer for Charm City Kings, a film by Angel Manuel Soto, starring Jahi Di’Allo Winston, Meek Mill, Will Catlett, Chino Braxton, Lakeyria “Wheelie Queen” Doughty, Donielle Tremaine Hansley, Kezii Curtis, Chandler DuPont, with Teyonah Parris, that is set to debut In Competition at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. Following the film’s festival premiere, Sony Pictures Classics will release Charm City Kings in select theaters on April 10, 2020, followed by a wide release on April 17, 2020.
Emmy-winning and Oscar and Golden Globe-nominated actor, director and producer Rob Reiner will receive the prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the Sedona International Film Festival for his work in front of and behind the camera and his commitment to the art of independent filmmaking. Reiner, who rose to fame as Mike “Meathead” Stivic on All in the Family, has been at the helm of award-winners including When Harry Met Sally, A Few Good Men, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride and LBJ.
