The fifth anniversary of Animation First, the only film festival in the US dedicated to shining a light on the enduring ingenuity of French animation and its diverse representation of international artists, studios and schools returns to French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) in person with an exciting lineup of programs from Friday, February 11 to Sunday, February 13. For the first time, the festival will also continue online with exclusive content from Monday, February 14 to Monday, February 21.
Sundance Film Festival updated it COVID-19 health safety protocols as result of increasing concerns surrounding the omicron variant which is now confirmed in all 50 states roughly three weeks after it was first detected in the U.S. The festival is now requiring boosters for all in-person attendees and theaters will operate at reduced capacity with no eating or drinking permitted in theaters

The Black Film Critics Circle awarded Reinaldo Marcus Green’s King Richard, the honor of Best Film of 2021, along with Best Actor for Will Smith and Best Supporting Actress for Aunjanue Ellis, as exclusively reported by Variety.
Florida Film Critics, (like pretty much most film critics), awarded The Power of the Dog the honors of Best Picture of 2021, along with Best Director and Adapted Screenplay for Jane Campion, Supporting Actor for Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Cinematography.
