The Atlanta Film Critics Circle announced their awards for best films and performances of 2020 with director Chloe Zhao’s Nomadland emerging as the number one film. The film also won the award for Best Director for Chloe Zhao and Best Cinematography for Joshua James Richards.
Best Actor went to Riz Ahmed for his performance in Sound of Metal about a heavy metal drummer coming to terms with losing his hearing; and Best Actress award went to Carey Mulligan, who stars as a darkly charismatic, vengeful woman in the revenge thriller Promising Young Woman.
The honor for Best Documentary went to Time directed by Garrett Bradley and Best International Film Award went to Danish director Thomas Vinterberg’s drama Another Round.
