Academy Reveals Animated, Documentary and International Feature Films Eligible for 97th Academy Awards

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has revealed the feature films eligible for consideration in the Animated Feature Film, Documentary Feature Film and International Feature Film categories for the 97th Academy Awards.

Thirty-one features are eligible for the Animated Feature Film category; one hundred sixty-nine features are eligible for the Documentary Feature Film category; and eighty-five countries or regions have submitted films eligible for the International Feature Film category for the 97th Academy Awards.

Some of these films are yet to fulfill the required qualifying release and must meet all category rules to advance in the voting process. The Academy will announce the shortlist on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

The 97th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. ABC will televise the event live to more than 200 territories around the world.
