Eden Trailer – Jude Law, Ana de Armas Star in Ron Howard’s Survival Thriller

Here is the trailer for Ron Howard’s Eden, a gripping survival thriller inspired by true events that echoes a twisted utopian experiment gone awry.

Jude Law, Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby, Daniel Brühl, and Sydney Sweeney star in the film as a group of outsiders who settle on a remote island only to discover their greatest threat isn’t the brutal climate or deadly wildlife, but each other.

Eden premiered at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, and opened in theaters on August 22, 2025, thanks to Vertical Entertainment.

Here is the synopis:

Set between the two World Wars, Eden unravels the shocking true story of a group of disillusioned Europeans who abandon civilization, convinced that society is corrupting humanity’s true nature.

Seeking paradise, they settle on a remote, uninhabited island in the Galapagos—only to discover that the greatest threat isn’t the brutal climate or deadly wildlife but each other. As tensions spiral and desperation takes hold, a twisted power struggle unfolds, leading to betrayal, violence, and the chilling, still-unsolved deaths of half the colony.

In an interview with Moviefone, Howard reflected on what intrigued him about the film, saying, “Twist and turns, and the wide variety of characters and personality types, and some of them are very extreme personalities, wild, bigger than life people. Yet, you know, they lived this experience, and they are as we depict them. In fact, we’ve probably dialed them back a little bit from what they really were. They were real outliers. But I felt like that combination and the fact that what they lived ultimately was a true crime thriller.”
