Here’s the official synopsis: “Famous movie actor Jay Kelly (George Clooney) and his devoted manager Ron (Adam Sandler) embark on a whirlwind and unexpectedly profound journey through Europe. Along the way, both men are forced to confront the choices they’ve made, the relationships with their loved ones, and the legacies they’ll leave behind.”

Critics are already weighing in. At the Venice premiere, Offscreen Central review graded the film an A, and praised it as “a love letter to cinema itself — a reminder of how deeply films can shape, move, and define us. It’s a meditation on life and choices, and a showcase of remarkable performances. Baumbach delivers a film that is funny, moving, and thoughtful.”

Meanwhile, IndieWire offered a more tempered response, grading the film a B- and calling it “an uncharacteristically sentimental shortfaller [that] gets lost on its way to a movie script ending.”
