‘Come What May’ Trailer – Roadshow Brings Ralphie May’s Story to Theaters Nationwide

A larger-than-life voice in comedy takes center stage once more in Come What May, an intimate and unflinching documentary portrait of stand-up icon Ralphie May, whose sudden passing in 2017 at just 45 years old shocked the comedy world.

Ralphie May made his debut as a contestant on NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2003, and quickly rose through the ranks, selling out huge venues and performing to applause on late-night shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He sadly passed away during a Las Vegas residency in 2017 at age 45.

Come What May is directed by Dave Gantz and the late comedian’s wife (and comedian in her own right), Lahna Turner, and is composed from rare and raw archival footage of May, along with interviews from his friends and colleagues.

The film launches its nationwide theatrical roadshow beginning April 28 with a high-profile world premiere in Los Angeles, setting the stage for a multi-city rollout featuring live Q&As and special guests. The opening night at the Landmark Sunset will include a live discussion with Lahna Turner and Kevin Smith, followed by additional Los Angeles screenings at the Laemmle NoHo, with Turner joined by Dr. Drew Pinsky. The roadshow continues across major cities, including stops at Flappers Comedy Club, The Beverly Theater, River Oaks Theatre, Harkins Tempe Marketplace, Texas Theatre, Belcourt Theatre, and Galaxy Austin. The film will screen in partnership with The Laugh Factory.

Here is the official synopsis: Come What May is an intimate, unflinching portrait of beloved comedian Ralphie May, whose large personality and even larger size set him apart from the rest and helped skyrocket him to fame. This loving husband and father fell victim to enablers, addiction, and abuse, causing his bright light to burn out far too quickly. What unfolds is a loving tribute to a flawed and complicated man who brought joy to millions, but pain and heartbreak to those who knew him best. The film features new interviews with artists including Tiffany Haddish, Jay Leno, Jay Mohr, Jess Ross, and Kevin Smith.
