Jake Busey (Stranger Things, The Predator, Starship Troopers) and Felix Merback (Blood Star, The Summer I Turned Bad) star in The Dead Janitors Club, a dark comedic thriller revolving around the crime-scene cleanup profession
Also starring in the movie are Brianna Gage (Raze, A Daughter’s Deception), Jake Holley (Wake, Riley), Ginger Lynn Allen (The Devil’s Rejects, 31, Pig Killer), and a cameo from Academy Award nominee Gary Busey (The Buddy Holly Story, Point Break, Lethal Weapon) as George, a homeless man with a habit of marking his territory.
Directed by Kenny Gage and Devon Downs, the film is based on the bestselling memoir by Jeff Klima (The Dead Janitors Club: Pathetically True Tales of a Crime Scene Cleanup King) , which was inspired by the wildly true stories from Klima’s years working as a crime scene cleaner in Los Angeles.
The memoir was first published in 2010 and became known for its morbidly hilarious tone and unfiltered account of the “Wild West” of crime scene cleanup, chronicling Klima’s efforts to keep his business alive while navigating the most gruesome corners of the job — and the toll it takes on relationships, sanity, and survival.
Dead Janitors Club is set for release in select theatres and digitally on August 28th.
In the thriller, crooked cop Dirk (Jake Busey) and his cash-strapped partner Jeff (Felix Merback) hatch a risky side hustle: illegally cleaning up crime scenes to make some fast cash. But when Jeff crosses paths with Kerry (Brianna Gage), a sharp-witted tattoo artist with a guarded heart, sparks fly—and trouble follows.
Dead Janitors Club is produced by Girls and Corpses Films president Robert Rhine (Cynthia, Exorcism at 60,000 Feet, Rob Zombie’s 31), alongside directors Kenny Gage and Devon Downs (Cynthia, Anarchy Parlor, Kung Fu Girl), continuing their creative partnership after Cynthia.
