Filmmaker Patricia Chica’s debut feature, Montréal Girls, follows the story of Ramy, a young Middle Eastern poet, as he embarks on a journey of passion, rebellion, and heartbreak after getting involved with two young women who challenge his perceptions and reveal his destiny to him.

The award-winning coming-of-age indie film starring Hakim Brahimi and Jasmina Parent, premiered at Cinequest, followed by Los Angeles International Film Festival where it won Best Feature Award, and will open in theaters in the U.S. on June 2nd via Level 33 Entertainment.

“Inspired by my true experience navigating the subcultures of Montréal, I trust that viewers will be able to see themselves on screen, and find the universality within this singular story,” says director Patricia Chica. “I believe that blending fiction with what’s real, makes imagination transcend the hearts of the audiences, no matter where they’re from.”

The film features visuals by cinematographer Alexandre Bussière, a soundtrack by a multitude of indie musicians including Bloodshot Bill, Professor Lyrical, Marti West, J4DE, Stephen Voyce, Les Breastfeeders, and David Deïas amongst many, a haunting score by Suad Bushnaq, and powerful performances by Jade Hassouné, Nahéma Ricci, Sana Asad, Manuel Tadros, Guillaume Rodrigue, Thomas Vallières, Simon Therrien, Marina Harvey, Chadi Alhelou, Natalie Tannous, and special appearances by Canadian veteran actors Larry Day and Martin Dubreuil.
