The North Texas Film Critics Association (NTFCA) voted Oppenheimer the winner for Best Picture of 2023. The film also won Best Director for Christopher Nolan, Best Cinematography for Hoyte Van Hoytema, and the Gary Murray Award for Best Ensemble.
For the first time, the Best Supporting Actor category was a tie with Robert Downey Jr. winning for Oppenheimer and Glenn Howerton for Blackberry.
The Holdovers also won multiple awards including Best Actor for Paul Giamatti, Best Supporting Actress for Da’vine Joy Randolph, Best Screenplay for David Hemingson and Best Newcomer for Dominic Sessa.
Other top film honors went to Anatomy of a Fall for Best Foreign Language Film and Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie for Best Documentary Film.
“The North Texas Film Critics Associations and its membership are thrilled to announce this year’s winners in our 13 categories,” said NTFCA President Rita Cook. “Overall, our membership spends many hours each year viewing films to access and vote on the best of the best in our annual awards.”
