Ali Abbasi’s Donald Trump biopic ‘The Apprentice’ which world premiered earlier this year at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, explores the early years of Trump’s business career including his relationship with lawyer Roy Cohn and his first wife Ivana.
Here is the first look clip from the film, showcasing Sebastian Stan’s performance as the controversial former US president and Jeremy Strong, Emmy nominated actor of ‘Succession’ as Cohn.
The synopsis of ‘The Apprentice’ reads; A young Donald Trump (Sebastian Stan), eager to make his name as a hungry second son of a wealthy family in 1970s New York, comes under the spell of Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong), the cutthroat attorney who would help create the Donald Trump we know today. Cohn sees in Trump the perfect protégé — someone with raw ambition, a hunger for success, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to win.
Alongside Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong, the film also stars Maria Bakalova, Martin Donovan, Ben Sullivan, Charlie Carrick, Mark Rendall, and Joe Pingue.
‘The Apprentice’ also screened recently at the 51st Telluride Film Festival. The controversial film opens in US theaters on October 11, 2024.
