The Times of Bill Cunningham, Mark Bozek’s documentary on legendary New York street photographer Bill Cunningham released a delightful entertaining new trailer. In the documentary, Bill Cunningham, the legendary New York Times photographer and fashion historian, shares his life story in his own words and photographs from his remarkable archive of over 3 million images. The film opens in theaters on February 14 via Greenwich Entertainment.

Narrated by Sarah Jessica Parker, The Times of Bill Cunningham features incredible photographs chosen from over 3 million previously unpublicized images and documents from iconic street photographer and fashion historian Bill Cunningham.

The documentary began on the day of Cunningham’s death in 2016 at the age of 87. The film’s centerpiece is the director’s 1994 filmed interview with the self-professed “fashion historian,” richly illustrated by his earliest pre-New York Times photographs.

Told in Cunningham’s own words from a recently unearthed 1994 interview, the photographer, in his customarily cheerful and plainspoken manner, buoyantly describes his conservative Catholic upbringing in Boston, his time in the army, his move to New York in 1948, his days as a hat designer – moonlighting as a milliner in France during the Korean War, and his beginnings as a photographer, his unique relationship with First Lady Jackie Kennedy, his four decades at The New York Times, peppering his narrative with his singular views of fashion and the extraordinary times in which he lived.
