Director Christopher M. Anthony’s debut feature, the boxing drama Heavyweight will make its World Premiere as the opening feature at the 33rd Raindance Film Festival on June 18th.

Neon debuted the first teaser trailer for Alpha, the latest film from Julia Ducournau, the visionary director behind Raw and the Palme D’or-winning Titane. Set in the 1980s, the French drama stars Mélissa Boros as Alpha, a troubled 13-year-old girl; Golshifteh Farahani as her mother; and Tahar Rahim as her ailing uncle, Amin, who underwent a significant physical transformation for his role.

Cambodian filmmaker Rithy Panh, known for his films that focus on the aftermath of the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia, will serve as jury president of the international competition (Concorso Internazionale), that will decide the winner of the Pardo d’Oro – the Golden Leopard – at the 78th Locarno Film Festival, taking place from August 6-16, 2025.
