William (Kyle Brookes), a church organist and public access television host, is blindsided when his wife leaves him. His life takes another turn when he meets Tina (Sophia Leanne Kelly), a younger woman with a sharp tongue and a knack for drama. Despite their differences, they form an unexpected bond. “A Light Through Coloured Glass is a story rooted in the everyday realities of Northern England—a place I know intimately,” said filmmaker Mike Clarke. “The film’s aesthetic draws inspiration from the British kitchen sink dramas of the past, yet it seeks to infuse a sense of hope and resilience. Through long takes and intimate cinematography, we invite the audience into the characters’ worlds, capturing both their struggles and moments of levity. Ultimately, this film is a testament to the power of human connection and the possibility of transformation. It’s a reflection of the communities that shaped me and a tribute to the stories that often go untold.”

Directed by Ben Petrie, the dog comedy The Heirloom will be released on digital starting June 10th.
The film stars Petrie along with Grace Glowicki as a couple who decide to adopt a rescue dog during a COVID-19 lockdown.
Here is the synopsis: When Eric, a control-freak filmmaker, succumbs to his restless partner Allie’s campaign to get a dog, he insists upon adopting a rescue. What comes their way is Milly, a traumatized whippet arriving via air-plane with an unknown past from the Dominican Republic. Eager to master the dog-training process, Eric enforces an ideology that emphasizes inner strength and his role as leader of the pack. But the renewed sense of meaning that this paternal role brings Eric is thrown into chaos when he is seized by inspiration that spills recklessly across his art and his life, taking Allie and Milly along with him.
Meanwhile, Allie’s nostalgia for memories lost to childhood sets loose the wrath of long-suppressed intuitions, and the creeping dawn of a deeper calling in her life. Surprising, raw, and devotedly funny, The Heirloom draws from actors Ben Petrie and Grace Glowicki’s real-life relationship to produce a hilarious chamber piece about a couple teetering between calamity and commitment.
