Filmmaker Vicky Du explores intergenerational trauma within her family in the very personal documentary film Light of the Setting Sun. Through intimate interviews and personal narratives, Du explores the lingering effects of political upheaval and silence that have persisted in her family since the Chinese Communist Revolution of 1949.

The 68th San Francisco International Film Festival (SFFILM Festival), taking place April 17-27, unveiled the lineup of over 150 films from more than 50 countries.


Joseph Granda has won the Palmer d’Or Award at the 9th annual MidWest WeirdFest in Eau Claire, Wisconsin for his film The Sasqualogist. Granda wrote, directed, and stars in the film that presents the microcosm of the Bigfoot research community. The award was instituted in 2023 to honor the memory of Wisconsin sci-fi and Fortean pioneer, Raymond A. Palmer, and recognize excellence in the field today.

The White Lotus actor Jason Isaacs will receive the Precious Gem Award at the Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Miami Film Festival (MFF) taking place from April 3-13, 2025.
