The 39th edition of BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival taking place March 19 – 30, 2025, unveiled its full program. BFI Flare is divided into three thematic program strands: Hearts, Bodies and Minds and presents 34 World Premieres (across features and shorts) with 56 features, 1 series and 81 shorts from 41 countries.

Edward Berger’s Conclave won the top prize of Best Film at the 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards along with Outstanding British Film, Adapted Screenplay and Editing.

Anora written by Sean Baker won the award for Original Screenplay and Nickel Boys written by RaMell Ross and Joslyn Barnes won for Adapted Screenplay in the film category at the 2025 Writers Guild Awards (77th Annual) held at concurrent ceremonies in New York and Los Angeles. Jim Henson: Idea Man written by Mark Monroe won for Documentary Screenplay.

Co-directed by documentarian Eryk Rocha and first-time director Gabriela Carneiro da Cunha, the immersive Brazilian documentary The Falling Sky (A Queda do Céu), will be released in the US via KimStim.
