Florida Film Festival, which was originally scheduled for April, but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will now take place August 7-20, 2020, in Maitland and Winter Park, Florida. This year’s 29th edition of the festival will screen 177 films representing 37 countries, kicking off with the World Premiere of Surviving Supercon, directed by Steven Shea.

The new political documentary titled The Swamp, debuting Tuesday, August 4 (9:00-10:55 p.m. ET/PT) on HBO, provides a look behind the curtain of Washington politics by following three renegade Republican Congressmen as they bring libertarian and conservative zeal to champion the President’s call to “drain the swamp,” while facing demands to raise money for their re-election campaigns and the Republican national party.
Actor Willem Dafoe is featured on the poster of the San Sebastian Festival’s 68th edition, set to run from September 18-26. In 2018 the Festival launched a new line of posters with a composition combining photography and illustration and presided over by a figure from contemporary cinema. The actress Isabelle Huppert opened the series at the 66th edition and last year it continued with Penélope Cruz. The poster was created by the San Sebastian studio Patio based on an image by the photographer Martin Schoeller.

The organizers behind the Oscar-Qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival have announced that they will be moving online and rescheduling their 16th annual year. Due to COVID-19, HollyShorts will now take place virtually between November 9-15, 2020 on the new streaming platform Bitpix.
