The 2023 Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF) announced its 2023 Awards winners with Jury Awards for Best Feature going to Monster directed by Hirokazu Koreeda, and Best Feature Documentary to The Michoacán File directed by Bernardo Arsuaga. Monster also won Jury Awards for Best Screenplay for Yûji Sakamoto and Best Actor for Eita Nagayama.
Actors Patricia Clarkson, Eugenio Derbez, William Shatner, Glenn Howerton, and Jesse Williams, directors Todd Haynes and Jack Huston, along with producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller will be honored at the 24th edition of Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF).
The Absence of Eden, directed by Marco Perego and starring Zoe Saldaña, will open the 2023 Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF)on Thursday October 12 at the Edwards Big Newport. The festival will close with Focus Features’ The Holdovers, directed by Alexander Payne, on Thursday, October 19 at the Port Theatre.

The Falconer directed by Adam Sjöberg and Seanne Winslow won the award for Best Film at the 22nd edition of the Newport Beach Film Festival, along with Best Cinematographer for Nicholas Bupp and Best Screenwriter for Adam Sjöberg / Seanne Winslow; and Best Documentary went to SET!
In addition to showcasing over 300 films, the 2021 Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF) will honor Rosanna Arquette, Winston Duke, Regina Hall, Harvey Keitel, Thomasin McKenzie, Simon Rex and Jeffrey Wright. The 22nd edition of the Festival will be held in person from October 21-28, 2021.

Major festivals such as San Francisco International Film Festival and RiverRun International Film Festival have canceled, while others such as Richmond International Film Festival and Florida Film Festival have been postponed until the Summer or Fall.

The Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF) wrapped up its eight day run with the Southern California Premiere of All Square starring Josh Lucas, Michael Kelly, Pamela Adlon, Tom Everett Scott, Jay Larson and Andrew Sikking. At the awards ceremony, All Square won the award for Best Film, along with Best Actor for Michael Kelly.
The Newport Beach Film Festival screened over 350 films, representing 50 countries, that competed for Jury, Festival Honors and Audience Awards.
