Nashville Film Festival (NashFilm) revealed four films selected for the 53rd annual event, taking place September 29 through October 5, 2022, marking the first film selections to be made public since the festival announced the Nashville premiere of The Return of Tanya Tucker as the opening night film.
Venice International Film Festival unveiled the selection of projects for Venice Immersive, the XR – Extended Reality section of the 79th edition of the festival. The Venice Immersive section will be held in person again this year, presenting 43 projects from 19 countries, including 30 projects in Competition, and 10 projects Out of Competition.

The 2022 Indy Shorts International Film Festival (Indy Shorts) presented by Heartland Film announced its award winners. The Grand Prize for Narrative Short went to “Ousmane” directed by by Jorge Camarotti; the Grand Prize for Documentary Short went to “Stranger at the Gate” by Joshua Seftel and the Grand Prize for Animated Short went to “Black Slide” by by Uri Lotan. The Festival’s three Grand Prize-winning films will receive Academy Award® qualification in their respective categories and $5,000 in cash prizes.
The 22nd Whitaker St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase, an annual presentation of the nonprofit Cinema St. Louis (CSL), serving as the area’s primary venue for films made by local artists, announced the winning films and filmmakers. The Showcase screened works that were shot in the St. Louis region or were written, directed, or produced by St. Louis-area residents or by filmmakers with strong local ties who are now working elsewhere. The Showcase’s 14 film programs ranged from narrative and documentary features to multi-film compilations of fiction, experimental, and documentary shorts.

This is Baumbach’s return to the Lido; he premiered Marriage Story at the festival in 2019.
