
The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) announced the lineup of official selections for the 20th annual edition which will mark a return to in-person screenings and events.

The 19th Calgary Underground Film Festival taking place from April 21 – May 1, 2022, announced the full program of 30+ feature films and three shorts packages for the annual genre film festival.

The 46th annual Atlanta Film Festival + Creative Conference (ATLFF) taking place Thursday, April 21 through Sunday, May 1, 2022 at multiple venues in Atlanta and virtually revealed the lineup highlighted by the Opening Night presentation of “892” and Closing Night film “Mija”.

Film at Lincoln Center and The Museum of Modern Art announced the lineup for 51st edition of New Directors/New Films (ND/NF) taking place April 20–May 1, 2022. This year’s festival will introduce 26 features and 11 shorts, a total of 39 directors, 21 of which are women, to filmgoers in theaters at both FLC and MoMA.

Anna Baumgarten’s Disfluency was named Best Narrative Feature, and Brandon Kramer’s The First Step won Best Documentary Feature at the 2022 Oxford Film Festival. Later, it was announced that Alysia Nahmias’ Krimes was the Barton Segal Audience Award winner.

Actor, author and comedian Jenny Slate will be celebrated during the 65th San Francisco International Film Festival with a special tribute. The Tribute to Jenny Slate will be held on Friday, April 22 at 7:30 pm at the Castro Theatre, followed by a screening of her highly anticipated film Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.

SXSW Film Festival announced the Audience Award winners of the 29th edition of the festival. The Audience Awards follow the previously-announced 2022 Jury Awards and the 40 Years of Massive Talent Award presented to Nicolas Cage at The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent screening on Saturday night.

Full Frame Documentary Film Festival revealed the 37 official festival selections for the virtual 25th edition of the festival, which takes place April 7–10, 2022. Thirty films will screen as part of NEW DOCS and are eligible for juried cash awards.; and the Invited Program includes seven feature films screening out of competition.

Here is the official trailer for Maybe Someday, an LGBTQ drama film set to world premiere at Cinequest’s virtual film festival “Cinejoy” April 1-17. An LGBTQ feature film highlighting different aspects of love and heartbreak, Maybe Someday is a nostalgic and moving journey written and directed by Michelle Ehlen. The film is Ehlen’s fifth feature and first dramedy, her prior films most notably being the first lesbian comedy trilogy – Butch Jamie, Heterosexual Jill, and S&M Sally. Maybe Someday stars Ehlen along with Shaela Cook from Heterosexual Jill and S&M Sally, and Charlie Steers.
