Summer with Hope directed by Sadaf Foroughi The Iranian social drama Summer with Hope directed by Sadaf Foroughi won the Grand Prix – Crystal Globe at the 56th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. In the film, a young swimmer is training for the national championships with his new coach, but the relationship between the two young men elicits disapproval from the people around them. “We live in a world full of violence and discrimination. I hope that our stories bring peace and tranquility,” said director Sadaf Foroughi to the jury and her colleagues.

Black, White and the Greys directed by Casey Nelson and Marchelle Thurman Festival of Cinema NYC returns for its 6th year, as a live in-person 10-day event, August 5 – August 14. Taking place at the Regal UA Midway theater in Forest Hills, Queens, FOC NYC will showcase 124 independent films from more than 25 countries, with over 90 anticipated filmmakers to be in attendance.
