Zurich Film Festival will honor French director, producer and actress Maïwenn with The A Tribute to… Award for her contribution to the resurgence of auteur cinema, and screen her directorial works in a retrospective. Maïwenn receives the award on October 1, and presents her most recent film ADN (DNA).

This year’s All Drive-in Edition of the Sidewalk Film Festival which ran August 24-30, announced the awards winners. The Audience Awards for Best Narrative Feature went to The Killing Of Kenneth Chamberlain directed by Dwight Cameron; and for Best Documentary Feature to Transhood directed by Sharon Liese. Transhood also won the prize for Best SHOUT Feature.

Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival announced the winners of this year’s festival. Los Fuertes (The Strong Ones), directed by Omar Zúñiga Hidalgo won the Audience award for Best Narrative Feature and the Grand Jury Prize for Best International Narrative Feature. Minyan, directed by Eric Steel won the Grand Jury Prize for Best U.S. Narrative Feature.

Seth Larney’s sci-fi thriller 2067 will world premiere as the opening film of the 2020 Adelaide Film Festival on October 14th.

The New York Latino Film Festival (NYLFF) returns September 14 – 20, 2020 with drive-in/ in-person experiences and virtual programming. The Festival opens with Habla Now, the fifteenth installment of HBO Latino’s award-winning Habla series. The documentary special shares personal stories from Latino personalities such as Amara La Negra, Dominican, Singer/Actress/Activist; Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, Mexican American, Environmental Activist; Laurie Hernandez, Puerto Rican, Olympian; Diane Guerrero, Colombian, Actress; among others.

Made in Spain, a showcase of the Spanish cinema at the San Sebastian Festival will feature selected eight productions – seven feature films and the first episode in the series Escenario 0 – for its 68th edition. The selection includes titles from experienced filmmakers such as Icíar Bollaín and Santiago Segura along with novices like Pilar Palomero and Nuria Giménez.
