
Prague Independent Film Festival 2019 (PIFF) returns for the fourth year to the Kino Pilotů cinema with some of the best new films from all over the world presented by international filmmakers.

Over 400 films from 30 different countries will compete for this year’s top prizes during the Oscar-Qualifying 2019 HollyShorts Film Festival taking place from August 8-17 at TCL Chinese Theatres in Hollywood.

25 diverse and engaging Canadian short films that are set to premiere at this year’s 2019 Toronto International Film Festival including new works by Short Cuts alumni, award-winning directors, and emerging talents, and directorial efforts by acclaimed Canadian actors Aaron Poole and Sofia Banzhaf.

The Toronto International Film Festival unveiled today the 26 Canadian features that are part of the Festival’s 2019 lineup. The Canadian selection includes seven first features, 13 works by returning TIFF alumni, and almost 50% films directed by women.

Impossible Monsters written and directed by Nathan Catucci, will screen at the 2019 HBO New York Latino Film Festival on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 10:30pm.

The US Premiere of Taika Waititi’s hilarious and tender anti-hate satire JOJO RABBIT will open the 15th edition of Fantastic Fest. In JOJO RABBIT a lonely young boy growing up in World War II Germany finds his world-view turned upside down when he discovers his single mother is hiding a young Jewish girl in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler, Jojo must confront his blind nationalism. With Taika himself playing the phantom Fuhrer and a terrific cast, including Roman Griffin Davis, Thomasin McKenzie, Rebel Wilson, Stephen Merchant, Alfie Allen, with Sam Rockwell and Scarlett Johansson.

Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story will make its New York premiere as Centerpiece of the 57th New York Film Festival (September 27 – October 13), at Alice Tully Hall on Friday, October 4, 2019. Marriage Story will be released in select theaters and on Netflix later this year.

The new documentary David Foster: Off the Record will have its World Premiere at Toronto International Film Festival. The film’s premiere will be followed with a special tribute to David Foster at the TIFF Tribute Gala.

Fourteen first or second films by European, American and Asian filmmakers have been selected to compete for the Kutxabank-New Directors Award at the 67th San Sebastian International Film Festival.

Independent Indian director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s latest film, Chola (Shadow of Water), will compete at the 76th Venice Film Festival in the Orizzonti program.

Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman will make its World Premiere as the Opening Night film of the 57th New York Film Festival (September 27 – October 13), at Alice Tully Hall on Friday, September 27, 2019. The Irishman will be released in select theaters and on Netflix later this year.
