The 2011 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF) announced its lineup for the 2011 Special Events and Tribeca Talks® panel series. The component programs are “Tribeca Talks: After the Movie,” “Tribeca Talks: Industry,” “Tribeca Talks: Pen to Paper, hosted by Barnes & Noble,” the Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival panel, and new this year, in celebration of the tenth Festival, the “Tribeca Talks: Directors Series,” featuring one-on-one conversations with acclaimed filmmakers, plus the premiere of five new documentary films and a one-of-a-kind videogame-film event.

The Independent Film Festival of Boston (IFFBoston) revealed the films that will be screened at the 2011 festival, taking place April 27- May 4, 2011 in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Virginia Film Festival, will return to Charlottesville, Virginia, for its 24th year from November 3-6, 2011.

The 2011 Hot Docs will open with the Canadian premiere of Morgan Spurlock’s POM WONDERFUL PRESENTS: THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER SOLD (USA, 90 min), a “doc-buster” financed entirely by product placement, marketing and advertising.
Hot Docs announced the 26 documentary features that will be a part of this year’s Special Presentations program, a high-profile collection of world and international premieres, award-winners from the recent international festival circuit, and works by master filmmakers, and featuring some star subjects. These films will screen as part of the 2011 Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, running April 28 to May 8 in Toronto.

The Female Eye Film Festival (FeFF) wrapped on Sunday March 20, 2011 with record-breaking attendance and success. Celebrating international women directors, the festival attracted notable talent from around the world including Mackenzie Phillips (One Day at a Time, American Graffiti), Tyler Blackburn (Pretty Little Liars), Anne Tait (Iron Road) and Mary Harron (American Psycho, I Shot Andy Warhol and The Notorious Betty Page).

Screenwriter and Fort-Worth Native, James V. Hart and writer, actor and producer L.M. Kit Carson will both be in attendance at the upcoming Dallas International Film Festival scheduled to run March 31 – April 10, 2011.

The 54th San Francisco International Film Festival (April 21 – May 5, 2011) will present the Golden Gate Persistence of Vision Award to multimedia artist Matthew Barney, perhaps best known for the five-part Cremaster film cycle.
