EFM // 1091 Pictures has acquired To The Moon, the directorial debut from actor-turned-director Scott Friend. The film, which is written, directed, and starring Friend, premiered in 2021 at NIGHTSTREAM and was in selection at the 2020 US in Progress industry showcase organized by Wroclaw’s American Film Festival, which later hosted the film’s international premiere.

Vertical Entertainment will release Measure of Revenge, a psychological thriller that marks an international directorial debut by Malaysian director Peyfa about an actress whose famous son dies suddenly from a supposed overdose, causing her to conduct her own investigation with the help of a drug dealer in pursuit of answers, justice, and revenge by any means necessary. Vertical is planning a day-and-date release on March 18, 2022.

The film previously received a one-week qualifying run in Los Angeles in November 2021, making it eligible for all potential awards. Star Olivia Colman has since received recognition from the London Critics’ Circle Film Awards, earning a nomination for “British/Irish Actress of the Year.”

Focus Features, Peacock, and Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions acquired the hit indie comedy Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul. starring Regina Hall and Sterling K. Brown which was a breakout hit at the 2022 Sundance film festival. The film will premiere in theaters and on Peacock later this year.
