Just in time for Pride Month, Netflix will premiere the documentary Disclosure that looks at how the fabled stories of Hollywood deeply influence how Americans feel about transgender people, and how transgender people are taught to feel about themselves. Directed by Sam Feder and executive produced by Laverne Cox, the film world-premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and was also a selection of the Tribeca, CPH:DOX and Hot Docs festivals; and will launch globally on Netflix on Friday, June 19.

Breaking Glass Pictures will release the documentary “Pornstar Pandemic: The Guys”, an intimate examination of LGBTQ adult actors and their lives during the COVID-19 quarantine. Directed by adult director Edward “EJ” James, and executive produced by Breaking Glass CEO Rich Wolff, Pornstar Pandemic: The Guys will arrive July 28 on DVD and all major VOD platforms.

The LGBTQIA+ focused OUTstream Film Fest, which will make its debut June 1-7, 2020 – timed to kick off Pride month – announced its lineup of titles. Two festival-favorite documentaries will open and close the brand new film festival, with Michael Barnett’s CHANGING THE GAME opening OUTstream Film Fest and David Charles Rodrigues’ GAY CHORUS DEEP SOUTH taking the Closing Night slot.

Unsettled: Seeking Refuge in America, a documentary directed by Tom Shepard reveals the untold stories of LGBTQ refugees and asylum-seekers. Unsettled had its World Premiere at the San Francisco International Film Festival and is the winner of the Best Documentary Feature Film at 2019 Outfest (playing at 55 festivals worldwide and winning 14 other top awards). Unsettled will lead Doc World’s new season which broadcasts on public media’s WORLD Channel on June 28 and will be available for streaming on WorldChannel.org through July 12.

The indie drama The Aerialist is the much anticipated sequel to the award winning lesbian film The Gymnast and stars Dreya Weber. Dreya Weber is not only an accomplished actress but is one of the leading aerial performers and trainers having choreographed Pink, Cher, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and many others on their national tours. She recently trained the Magic Mike Live cast on their Las Vegas run.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for social distancing, this year’s fourth annual LGBTQ+ Spectrum Film Festival will be held as a “virtual festival” from Friday, May 1 to Sunday, May 3 with six different LGBTQ+ films all available for patrons to watch from the health-safety and security of their own homes.

Breaking Glass Pictures will release the Italian LGBTQ comedy-drama Fairytale on DVD/VOD on May 12. Fairytale (Favola) follows Mrs. Fairytale, a perfect housewife in 1950s America who becomes aware of her own unhappiness and embarks on a process of personal liberation. Amongst stuffed poodles, whiskey-infused teas, sinful mambo lessons, and threats of alien invasion, Mr(s). Fairytale will begin to explore a world where anyone can finally be who they want to be, but behind which hides another upsetting reality.
