Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Favourite, and Alfonso Cuarón’s Roma, won three awards each at the Houston Film Critics Society’s 12th Annual Movie Awards with The Favourite taking the top prize for Best Picture.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) today announced the five nominees for this year’s prestigious EE Rising Star Award. The 2019 EE Rising Star Award nominees are: Jessie Buckley, Cynthia Erivo, Barry Keoghan, Lakeith Stanfield and Letitia Wright. The winner will be announced on Sunday February 10th, 2019 at the EE British Academy Film Awards ceremony.

Film, television, and stage star Taye Diggs currently starring in the independent film “River Runs Red,” will host the 24th annual Critics’ Choice Awards. The star-studded Critics’ Choice Awards will be broadcast live on The CW Network on Sunday, January 13th, from 7 – 10 p.m. ET (delayed PT).

AARP The Magazine today announced the nominees for the 18th Movies for Grownups Awards, with A Star Is Born, BlacKkKlansman, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, Green Book and Roma competing in the Best Picture/Best Movie for Grownups category.

Roma, director Alfonso Cuarón’s autobiographical film, triumphed over “If Beale Street Could Talk,” “First Reformed,” and “The Favourite.” to win Best Film honors from the Online Film Critics Society (OFCS). Roma also won the following awards: Best Film Not in the English Language, Best Director, and Best Cinematography.

Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Favourite leads the nominees for the Austin Film Critics Association 2018 film awards with a total of nine nominations including for Best Film. Other nominees for Best Film include Blindspotting, If Beale Street Could Talk, Roma and Suspiria.

Yorgos Lanthimos, The Favourite, the dark comedy set in early 18th century England, won the top honor of 2018 Best Picture from the Florida Film Critics Circle.

Phoenix Film Critics Society ( PFCS) announced its 2018 award winners with Peter Farrelly’s “Green Book,” capturing Best Picture honors, along with three other wins. Alfonso Cuarón’s “Roma,” also won four awards including Best Foreign Language Film, and Best Director. Best documentary went to “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” “

Yorgos Lanthimos’ black comedy The Favourite was out front with 10 nominations for the 39th annual London Critics’ Circle Film Awards, including Film, Director, Screenwriter, Actress for Olivia Colman and Supporting Actress for Rachel Weisz. In addition, the film is nominated for British/Irish Film of the Year.
