RIP: Director John Singleton Dead at 51
John Singleton John Singleton, the Oscar nominated film director, screenwriter and producer died Monday April 29 in Los Angeles after suffering a stroke on April 17, 2019. Earlier today, Singleton’s family announced he was removed from life support. He was 51.

Academy Changes Oscar Rules, Renames ‘Foreign Language Film’ Category
Alfonso Cuarón accepts the Oscar® for achievement in directing ROMA during the live ABC Telecast of The 91st Oscars® at the Dolby® Theatre in Hollywood, CA on Sunday, February 24, 2019. The Academy’s Board of Governors has approved Oscars rules for the 92nd Academy Awards, including changing the Foreign Language Film category name to International Feature Film. The category name change does not change any existing category rules, the submission process, or eligibility requirements; however the shortlist for the International Feature Film award will be expanding to ten films.
