Gene Hackman in Welcome to Mooseport ( Intermedia Films / 20th Century Fox) Legendary actor Gene Hackman, 95, and his wife Betsy Arakawa, 64, were discovered dead at their residence in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at approximately 1:45 p.m., arriving at the couple’s home on Old Sunset Trail in Hyde Park, where they found both Hackman and Arakawa, along with their dog, dead at the scene.
