  • Sundance Institute, YouTube And Acura To Make 12 Short Films From 2011 Sundance Film Festival Available For Free On YouTube Screening Room

    Sundance Institute announced a collaboration with YouTube to make available, in the YouTube Screening Room, 12 short films from the 2011 Sundance Film Festival as well as eight classic short films from Institute alumni and earlier Festivals. Each YouTube Screening Room series is scheduled to run for a span of six weeks. The first launch date is January 6, 2011 and will continue to release through February 3, 2011. These presentations are made possible by the generous support of Acura, Presenting Sponsor of the Sundance Film Festival.

  • 10 Scientific and Technical Achievements To Be Honored with Academy Awards®

    The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that 10 scientific and technical achievements represented by 22 individual award recipients will be honored at its annual Scientific and Technical Awards Presentation at the Beverly Wilshire on Saturday, February 12, 2011.

    Unlike other Academy Awards to be presented this year, achievements receiving Scientific and Technical Awards need not have been developed and introduced during 2010.  Rather, the achievements must demonstrate a proven record of contributing significant value to the process of making motion pictures.
