Hayao Miyazaki’s latest film The Boy and the Heron (Kimitachi wa Do Ikiruka) will open the 71st edition of San Sebastian Festival – out of competition. Following the premiere at Toronto Film Festival, San Sebastian will host the European premiere of the latest film from the director of Spirited Away.

New York Film Festival unveiled the films in the Spotlight section for the upcoming 61st edition of the festival taking place September 29 – October 15, 2023. World premieres in the Spotlight section are Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie’s genre-defying series The Curse starring Emma Stone; and Garth Davis’s superbly rendered science-fiction drama Foe, starring Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal.

The European Film Awards has selected 19 films as the first part of the Academy’s Feature Film Selection 2023. The Feature Film Selection includes films that the Board of the Academy recommends to all Academy members for a nomination for the European Film Awards 2023.
