The 2021 Milwaukee Film Festival which ran virtually May 6-20 with over 200 films, wrapped with the awards – with “Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America” directed by Emily Kunstler and Sarah Kunstler taking the Audience Award for Best Feature.

Last Night In Soho opens in theaters on October 22, 2021.

Disney+ released the trailers for all six of Disney’s “LAUNCHPAD” Season One live-action short films from a new generation of dynamic storytellers. The goal of Disney’s “LAUNCHPAD” is to diversify the types of stories that are being told and to give access to those who have historically not had it. Inspired by life’s journey, these first six short films for Disney+ are based on the theme, “Discover.” All six short films will be available to stream on Disney+ beginning May 28.

The animated short film, The Tattooed Torah, based on the beloved children’s book of the same name written by Marvell Ginsburg will be released by Menemsha Films. Directed by Marc Bennett and narrated by Ed Asner, the animated film is based on the renowned children’s book that has been educating young children about the Holocaust for generations.

IFC Films released an official clip for the indie coming-of-age drama film Holler, from filmmaker Nicole Riegel and starring Jessica Barden, Gus Halper, Pamela Adlon, Becky Ann Baker, along with Austin Amelio. The film opens in theaters and on demand on June 11.

Etheria Film Night, the annual showcase of horror, science fiction, fantasy, action and thriller films directed by women, will feature nine short films in the 2021 Official Short Films Showcase Lineup. The festival will stream exclusively on Shudder, beginning Friday, June 25 through July 25.

Ahead of the world premiere at Sheffield Doc/Fest, the new trailer debuted for the powerful documentary short film RIP SENI directed by Daisy Ifama. The film is a reaction to the ‘RIP SENI’ signs that appeared outside Bethlem Royal Hospital, a psychiatric hospital in South London following the death of a black man who died at the hands of police officers.

The 21st annual New York-based New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) announced its full lineup featuring cinema from India, and the Indian Diaspora. Presented virtually for the second year in a row, the festival features 58 screenings (23 narrative features, 8 documentary features and 27 short films) from June 4-June 13.
