The American Film Institute revealed the full slate of 77 documentary films being presented at the hybrid AFI DOCS 2021 festival. Over half of the films – 52% – directed by women, 40% by BIPOC directors and 18% by LGBTQ directors.

The goal of Disney’s “LAUNCHPAD” is to diversify the types of stories that are being told and to give access to those who have historically not had it.
