Showtime released the official trailer for The Kingmaker, the new documentary film from Emmy(R) winning director Lauren Greenfield (The Queen of Versailles), that centers on the indomitable character and controversial political career of Imelda Marcos.
The 22nd SCAD Savannah Film Festival, presented by Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), will showcase a record total of 159 films, including 35 narrative films, 15 documentary films and 109 shorts, from October 26 to November 2.
Oscar, Emmy, and Tony-winning actress Viola Davis will be the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 14th Rome Film Fest . Davis will also participate in a “Close Encounter”, an onstage conversation where she will discuss her career in film, television, and theatre.

The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam announced the first film selections for IDFA 2019, taking place November 20th to December 1st. The curated program sections include 54 titles from the new focus programs It Still Hurts, Re-releasing History, and The Villain, the Retrospective and Top 10 of Guest of Honor Patricio Guzmán, and a special tribute section to D.A. Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus.
Uncorked Entertainment released the trailer for the ‘yuletide horror haunt’ Holiday Hell, starring horror icon Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator), Joel Murray (Hatchet), Jeff Bryan Davis (Killer Pad), Lisa Coronado (“Twin Peaks”), and Meagan Karimi-Naser (Dead West), the frighteningly-festive horror anthology features segments directed by Jeff Ferrell (Ghostlight), Jeremy Berg (The Invoking), Jeff Vigil and David Burns.

The new French comedy-drama Cyrano, My Love, by writer, director, actor Alexis Michalik, adapted from his award-winning stage play Edmond, opens October 18th in NY at the Landmark at 57 West and the Royal in LA.
Objector directed by Molly Stuart makes its World Premiere as the “Spotlight Centerpiece Film” of the 2019 Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival. The documentary tells the story of Atalya, who like all Israeli youth, is obligated to become a soldier. Unlike most, she questions the practices of her country’s military and when she refuses military duty, is imprisoned for her dissent.
Elia Suleiman’s whimsical, yet thoughtful film IT MUST BE HEAVEN – the Palestinian 2020 Oscar submission, will open the 2019 CineCina Film Festival on Friday, October 25 at the DGA New York Theater. The film features the beloved filmmaker observing the goings on around him in Nazareth, Paris and France. Through his eyes, we see moments, and fragments of life and human interaction that can surprise and delight one moment, and be very familiar the next.
